Kazimierz Isn't Just "the Jewish District" - Here's What's Missing

There's an old Polish saying about Kazimierz the Great: he "found a Poland made of wood and left one made of brick." Under him the country roughly doubled in size, filled up with castles and stone towns, and got its first proper university - the one still running in Kraków today. Not bad for the only king we ever bothered to call "the Great." So when you're wandering the district, remember the name on the map isn't a coincidence. It's a signature.
